Dr. Gianfranco Siciliano is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at CEIBS. Prior to joining CEIBS, he was an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Bocconi University. He previously worked at the Internal Audit Department of Philips International NV in Eindhoven (The Netherlands) and at several accounting firms in Milan and Parma (Italy).

Martin Roll
Visiting Professor (Family Business & Family Office), CEIBS

Martin Roll is an experienced global business strategist, senior advisor and facilitator to Fortune 500 companies, Asian firms, business families and family offices.  He teaches MBA, EMBA and Executive Education programmes at CEIBS, INSEAD and Nanyang Business school. He is the CEO of Martin Roll Company and author of bestseller ‘Asia Brand Strategy (2015) and co-author of The Future of Branding.

Lucia Pierini
Former Lecturer, CEIBS

Dr. Lucia Pierini is a former Lecturer of Accounting at CEIBS. During her Ph.D. at LUISS Guido Carli University, she was also a Visiting Research Student in the Department of Accounting at the London School of Economics as well as a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Accounting at NYU. She has also served as an Instructor and Teaching Assistant at LUISS Guido Carli University for undergraduate and postgraduate students. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Auditor.

When we first started to use the internet, we accessed static, read-only content (Web 1.0), and we could not imagine the development of a virtual space where we could create our own content and interact with others (Web 2.0). So perhaps now it is hard to imagine an internet that is decentralized, owned and governed by its builders and users, trustless, and self-governing. FTW.DAO brings together serial founders, investors, operators, and talent to collectively build a $billion ecosystem fund by leveraging blockchain technology.

Global meat consumption is enormous. It is also potentially very problematic due to its impact on the environment. In response, food innovation companies are now looking for new recipes and turning to scientific knowledge to help bring lab-grown meat to the marketplace. But what do consumers really think of lab-grown meat? Are people ready to eat lab-grown foods, or do they already have too much on their plates?

In this webinar, CEIBS Professor Wang Yajin will share her most recent research on consumer acceptance towards different types of lab-grown foods. Prof. Wang will be joined by Ms. Senn-Jakobsen who will explain Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley’s current initiative to develop, strengthen and promote food innovation in Switzerland and beyond. Ms. Jakobsen will explain how Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley addresses major challenges in food, agriculture, and nutrition by leveraging cutting-edge science and technology for a more sustainable future. She will also share a case study of a start-up company tackling the challenges of sustainable and alternative food solutions.

Wang Yajin
Professor of Marketing and ESG Research Area Director, CEIBS

Wang Yajin is a Professor of Marketing at CEIBS. Prior to joining CEIBS, she served as a faculty member at Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. Prof. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Minnesota and B.A. in Journalism and Law & Sociology from Peking University. Prof. Wang is a marketing expert, with specialisations in consumer behaviour and branding strategy. Her research work has been published on top international academic journals.

Christina Senn-Jakobsen
Managing Director, Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley

As a food innovation passionista, Christina aims to help solve some of the most pressing global issues related to food. With a core focus on food science and nutrition, Christina believes collaboration between sectors is fundamental to better and faster innovation and aims to put Switzerland firmly on the map as a leading nation in sustainable food & nutrition. Christina holds a Master’s in Food Science & Technology from the University of Copenhagen and a Master’s in European Food Studies from Wageningen University. She spent the first 12 years of her career at Mondelez in roles spanning R&D, innovation management, marketing, and strategy before she moved on to working with entrepreneurs and startup collaborations. In January 2021, she joined Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley as Managing Director.

About the Speaker

Dr. Taiyuan Wang is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at CEIBS. Before joining CEIBS, Dr. Wang was an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at IE Business School in Spain. He also worked for multinational corporations and governmental organisations before pursuing his academic career.

Dr. Wang teaches Entrepreneurial Management and New Venture Growth at the MBA and EMBA levels. He values and adopts the combination of different teaching methods, including case studies, workshops, interactive lectures, and research projects. He has also taught Seminar in Entrepreneurship and Research Methods for doctoral programmes.

Dr. Wang’s research has appeared in numerous journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Research Policy, and Human Relations. He received the Best Convention Paper Award from the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management (2015), and was nominated for the Newman Award by the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management (2010). He also won a number of research grants from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. He currently serves as an editorial board member of Journal of Business Ethics, and reviews for Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Research Policy, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management Studies, and so forth.
