CEIBS Professor among Most Cited Researchers for 2020
November 24, 2020. Shanghai – CEIBS Honorary Professor and ABN AMRO Chair in Management Jiing-Lih Larry Farh is among the academics on the 2020 Highly Cited Researchers list compiled by Clarivate Analytics, and is one of only three mainland China-based researchers in the field of economics and business to make the list, which includes 6,389 researchers across 21 fields of science and social science. The distinction recognises Prof. Farh’s exceptional research performance and places him in the top 1% by citations in the area of economics and business for 2020.
Prof. Farh’s research focuses on management theories in a Chinese context and includes seminal work on the paternalistic leadership model, organisational citizenship behaviour, guanxi and trust, and how personal values of traditionality and power distance affect employee work behaviour. He has published more than 50 articles in numerous top-tier international management journals and is regularly named among the academic elite by various organisations.
Web of Science is an online subscription-based platform which facilitates in-depth exploration of various academic or scientific disciplines. The Highly Cited Researcher distinction derives from Prof. Farh’s worldwide academic peers, who have, through their citation of his work, acknowledged his influence and contributions to the field of management. To date, he has received more than 6,600 Web of Science citations. He previously appeared on the Highly Cited Researcher in both 2017 and 2018.
In addition to his work at CEIBS, Prof. Farh helped found the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR), the largest scholarly association devoted to the promotion of management research in China. He also serves on the advisory boards at several management publications.
