Is Open Trade in Danger?
Dear Friends of CEIBS,
We cordially invite you to attend our CEIBS Master Class on December 11, 2018, with former WTO Director-General, Honorary President of Notre Europe, and Distinguished Professor at CEIBS Pascal Lamy, who will give a lecture entitled Is Open Trade in Danger?
While opening trade and building a multilateral rules-based system have dominated thinking and policy-making during recent decades, this view now appears to be under attack from various quarters and for a number of reasons. Moreover, this trend may lead to a fragmentation of the world economy — or even to de-globalisation – and to conflict. Addressing this serious situation in different ways is a necessity. In this class, Prof. Pascal Lamy will address topics related to the dynamic of globalisation, its infrastructures (integration and production systems), its superstructures (multilateral governance), and how we can cope with ongoing challenges such as trade tensions or environmental sustainability.
