CEIBS Invites Applications for Lecturer of Economics

The China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) invites applications for a Lecturer of Economics in the Department of Economics and Decision Sciences. This Lectureship is a full-time tenure-track position. The Lecturer is expected to teach macroeconomics and/or microeconomics at the MBA level, and to be productive in academic research. CEIBS’ working language is English, and faculty members are based in Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen.

Lecturers must hold a PhD in Economics or a related area. Candidates should have strong communication skills, a capacity for high-quality research, a commitment to teaching excellence, and a team-oriented attitude.

Compensation is internationally competitive and commensurate with qualifications. In addition to base salary, the school offers generous housing and other benefits. The school also offers considerable research funding, and teaching reductions for top journal publications and course innovation.

About the CEIBS Lectureship
Lecturers will be assigned a mentor to help develop their teaching and research capabilities. They may co-teach with senior faculty to fill their required teaching load of 20 sessions/year (approximately 20 hours of MBA classroom time). Within three years the Lecturer will be promoted to Assistant Professor if she/he has demonstrated strong research and teaching abilities. Assistant Professors are prepared to teach in the MBA and Executive Education programs, and fill an annual teaching load of 90 sessions (plus service). The full annual compensation package for Lecturers starts from EUR 50,000, while that for Assistant Professors starts from EUR 140,000. Lecturers can be promoted to Associate Professor in about the same time as those who start as Assistant Professors, provided they meet the qualifications for Associate Professor after five years.
